At 6:20 this evening I fired up the JDM engine in my previously NA chassis. The swap is complete with the exception of a few minor issues. I still need to modify my very nice NA fascia to provide ducts for the ICs. There is a slight miss accompanied by a rich reading on the right bank so I need to recheck my wiring to the injectors as I suspect I may have cross wired a pair. The new harness is sweet (thanks Bernie) but it takes a bit to figure out which connector is which. And I need to do some minor exhaust work.I love the feel of the DXD-FX "X" series clutch kit (Thanks to Spddracer) It is everything he claims. And Joe is a truly great resource. I am lucky to have him nearby. The support from Noyan has been excellent too. Mark at Noyan fielded a huge number of questions prior to the purchase and when a few items showed the need for replacement, Noyan came through with no hassle. I also deleted the AIV's, PRVR, EGR, and charcoal canister. The EGR went bye-bye to make room for the EGT probe. (I had to drill the right manifold.) The charcoal canister was deleted to both simplify the plumbing and to provide a free-er flow for air through the IC. I plan to open some sort of duct for exiting air behind the IC as well. I have seen lots of discussion on larger ICs but next to nothing on making the stockers cool better and it seems like providing a way for air to leave the IC would be a great help. I reused my NA flywheel and transmission. It is an easy fit with the DXD-FX "X" clutch and is slightly smaller and lighter than the TT flywheel. So if the JDM pedals are the same as "A" spec, I know have a complete auto to 5 speed TT conversion available. Additionally, the turbos I replaced appear to be pretty nice. The shaft play was about the same as the new ones I bought and the light bit of oil I saw was likely from the PCV's as there was no oil in the intercoolers or ducting. I will be sending them to Z1 as cores or I may try to sell them to cover the core charge. I haven't decided yet. All in all it took me about 9 days of at least 8 hours each to make the swap. My son helped three of those days. A lot of time went into pulling the clip engine as it is difficult to do when the clip is flat on a trailer or floor. I am sure I could do it much faster a second time around. Would I do it again? Probably. But I really have only driven it 3 miles and only boosted enough to verify the turbos were working so the "addiction" to boost has not set in. For the future... a new fuel pump and 555 injectors are needed to take advantage of the GT 525's. Enough for now... KK
